Chronos had committed to an ambitious drydock upgrade: several energy-saving technologies to be installed in one yard stay. The technical and operational benefits were clear, but execution was proving harder than expected. Multiple vendors were involved, timelines were shifting, and scope gaps were emerging as equipment specs changed.
The internal team was stretched. Without a central point of coordination, the risk of delays, rework, or missed installations grew by the day.
Our approach:
Njord took on the full coordination of the upgrade package. We acted as the single point of contact between Chronos, the yard, and technology suppliers—owning the timeline and managing the dependencies between installations.
We worked upstream to flag potential risks and solve for them early: whether it was layout clashes, missing drawings, or unclear work scopes. We also ensured all components were delivered to the right location, at the right time, with the right documentation. When unexpected changes occurred—as they often do—we provided timely recommendations that kept the overall project on track.
This allowed the Chronos team to focus on high-level decision-making without getting pulled into daily firefighting. Every technology was installed as planned, the yard stay stayed on schedule, and Chronos avoided unnecessary cost overruns.
